Hannover Messe 2018: .objective Software Presents TeleOperated Vehicle

.objective Software GmbH will participate at Hannover Messe 2018. For the first time, our company is represented at one of the world’s largest industry trade fairs. .objective will showcase their teleoperated vehicle at the booth of our partner Trend Micro.

In a way, Hanover takes us back to the roots every year. Back in 2011, the term “Industry 4.0” was coined at the international industry trade fair and has been lived anew every Hannover Messe since. Seven years later, industry, research and development are still gathering at the exhibition center in Hanover to come closer to the implementation of industry 4.0.

Hannover Messe 2018: .objective Software and Trend Micro cooperate for trade fair appearance

.objective Software also contributes to the research and development of the area. In cooperation with our partner Trend Micro, we are exhibiting teleoperated driving, our award-winning, in-house technology, at this year’s Hannover Messe. As a visitor to the fair you have the unique opportunity to try out our teleoperated vehicle. You can either drive the vehicle on the outdoor course from our joint stand with Trend Micro (hangar 6, booth B16). But you can also go visit the outside course next to hangar 27 and ride along in the vehicle itself.

Teleoperated driving includes all the features of autonomous driving – but without the safety concerns. Since the driver controls the car from a distance, the vehicle does not have to rely on sensors and radars alone. In addition, there are situations that a car driving autonomously cannot yet deal with: A road with potholes, a fire or a flash flood could currently still outwit self-propelled cars. However, an experienced human driver knows how to navigate such situations.

Teleoperated driving at Hannover Messe 2018: Use cases for the industry

More relevant for the Hannover Messe are the fields of application in industry. Especially in construction, the use of TeleOp saves time and money: A crane operator, for example, often spends the whole day in the cab and waits for his deployment, which may only take a few minutes. With a teleoperated crane, the necessary manpower could be used more efficiently. Additionally, the use of teleoperated driving is not to be neglected even for passenger cars: TeleOp is particularly effective in the area of logistics – for example at airports, in production, car rentals or car sharing companies.

At the Hannover Messe you can get a first taste of our teleoperated vehicle. Just visit us in hangar 6 at stand B16 – directly opposite the restaurant. We look forward to seeing you – if you want more information on our appearance at the fair, just give us a shout!
