.objective has recently started to work on autonomous driving map reconstruction projects based on high-precision laser scanners, Global Positioning System and Inertial Navigation Systems and our efficient SLAM+ algorithm. In combination these tools allow the positioning and orientation of the footprint of a laser beam as it hits an object, to a high degree of accuracy. MAP3 not only generates 3D maps but also recognises and classifies objects to populate digital maps, supporting road automation at all levels.
